Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

Psychology is fascinating! It will always be useful to understand the mind- along with how the mind interacts with the body.

    Course highlights:

I learned about dreams, memory, sense versus perception, Sigmund Freud, and countless psych experiments and discoveries. Along with mental diseases, emotions, and how it all affects the brain in the process!

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

I would say you definitely have to be interested in the first place. You're not going to have a good time if it's a subject you have absolutely no passion for. But on the off chance that this is the case, you'd better open your mind a little- if you know what I mean. It helps to apply yourself into the lesson, like if you're learning about dreams you could ask yourself "how often do I dream, and how much sleep do I usually get?" That way you become more involved with the topic.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend this course because psychology is something that can be really useful in all areas of life. Not only is learning about how the brain works really interesting, but it also gives you better insight into why people do some of the things that they do!

    Course highlights:

Highlights from this course included learning the different parts of the brain and how they all interact with each other every day and in different situations. Another highlight was learning about brain development from fertilization until adulthood and even death.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Make sure to read the book as mentioned in the syllabus as this will greatly increase success on tests that are given throughout the quarter. If you take notes in class and read, you should do great!

    | Probably wouldn’t recommend.

    Pretty easy, overall.

    Course Overview:

I think Psych 101 has a lot of potential. Many students are interested in psychology even if it isn't part of their major. However, this class in particular lacked focus. There are so many aspects of psychology, and one quarter isn't enough time to even begin covering them.

    Course highlights:

A broad range of topics were covered. I learned how different prescription drugs affect the brain, the definition of a mental illness, and the best methods of studying for optimal retainment.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Take advantage of the textbook. It's a great resource for learning, and taking responsibility by reading the chapters on your own and studying from the text is great practice for reading material in general.
