Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

This course was picked up before AP Chem ended, going back to topics and explaining them in depth for better comprehension. The material was challenging but fun to learn about, and the professor did an amazing job being flexible with in-lecture questions and with lab mishaps.

    Course highlights:

I loved being able to connect what we were learning in class to the work we were doing in lab. Being able to apply the gas laws, for example, while we took the lecture notes helped immensely with my understanding of the topic.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

Don't be shy to talk to your classmates because study groups will be an extremely helpful tool to assist with understanding, homework and lab reports. For the same reasons, I highly recommend meeting with your professor during their office hours so they get to know you- it'll help with any questions you have and they'll be able to identify you by name.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

First quarter chemistry sequence class taught by a knowledgeable and enjoyable professor who teaches above and beyond what is needed, to benefit the students.

    Course highlights:

This course assumes you already have some basic chemistry under your belt (some math at least), but starts with basic atomic theory and goes on through basic thermodynamics, which is continued in the next course. Class goes deeper and more thoroughly through material than a standard first quarter chemistry class, but is beneficial and enjoyable nonetheless, despite being difficult. Totally worth taking.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Be prepared to pay attention in class and do the occasional assignment, as well as practice problems on your own time. Make sure you understand the math as well as the theory.
