Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I would definitely recommend this class. Not only is professor Bulcroft a passionate teacher within the subject of Sociology but he has a great ability to teach his students. This class also offered a lot of information that I found to be very helpful to me and I believe that I will be able to apply what I have learned in my future career as a counselor. If a student is not intending on advancing in the social sciences I would still recommend this class as I provides a lot of useful information about society and its views about "the family" along with all other kinds of dynamics tied the family life.

    Course highlights:

Highlights of this course would include learning about partner selection, marital relations, and definitions of different family types.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

It's worth it to do the weekly discussion and actually put effort into to get full credit.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

This was a great course because it focused on the experience of the family through history, and it also included multicultural families. I would recommend it to anyone wanting to learn more about how families and couples interact and what their purpose is.

I learned the differences between families, the different definitions of family through the years, how political and social movements have impacted the family unit, and how couples interact and their social roles.

    Hours per week:

    0-2 hours

    Advice for students:

Read the chapters assigned and take notes on the readings.
