    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend this course to anyone interested in biology, but it wasn't something I would personally take for enjoyment, so one would likely be taking this course as a major requirement. The content itself wasn't too terrible, but lectures were very vague and unorganized, making the content more difficult to grasp. The professor was very personable and seemed to care a lot about the students. He graded very fairly.

    Course highlights:

Obviously Bio 204 is a great introduction to biology as a whole, and grazes over general concepts that are a must-know for future biology courses. The class began with evolution, dove into prokaryotic and eukaryotic characteristics and classifications, grazed over mitosis and meiosis, and ended with many specific prokaryotes and eukaryotes.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Stay on top of the reading assignments, and be sure to quiz yourself on material by utilizing flash cards or chapter quizzes, because the reading quizzes are very detail-focused, rather than concept-based.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

If your major requires a biology class, I recommend taking it with Ben. He was very instructive and clear in his lectures.

    Course highlights:

The highlight is when you don't understand something, and it finally clicks, it's the most rewarding feeling.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

Pay attention, don't slack, especially in the beginning.

    Pretty easy, overall.

    Course Overview:

I really enjoyed that class, the professor did a very good job at involving us in class decision to keep everyone awake.

    Course highlights:

I learned so many life cycles! It seemed ridiculous but now whenever I take a walk in the forest I am thinking about how things are growing and reproducing.

    Hours per week:

    0-2 hours

    Advice for students:

Get ready to go in after lab to finish the lab, they take for ever!
