Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

This class is a lecture, but it does not feel like it at all. Jordan is an exceptional lecturer and really engages her students in what she is teaching. I also felt very comfortable going to her office hours to ask questions. The class is set up primarily so you can learn with your peers instead of competing with them for "who has the most knowledge". Jordan really likes teamwork but also emphasizes self-accountability when it comes to thing like doing the readings.

    Course highlights:

I learned not only about linguistics as a whole, which is very fascinating and interesting, but also about myself, how I learn, and how I can learn with others. I learned about the history of the English language, where dialects come from, the essence of language, and how to keep myself accountable for all I do, how to communicate and learn from others, and how to communicate my own ideas to them.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

Do the readings, go to office hours, get to know your fellow classmates.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

Dr. Sandoval is the best professor I have ever had! She made me so interested in the subject itself, I decided to major in Linguistics.

    Course highlights:

Dr. Sandoval is amazing at explaining Phonology and Phonetics, and it was so fun to go to class and talk about these subjects.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Always go to class and utilize the office hours. In addition, always ask questions when you don't understand something, because the chance is many students probably have the same question.

    Pretty easy, overall.

    Course Overview:

The teacher is very passionate about her work. You feel very engaged with the class and learn something you didn't know about.

    Course highlights:

It's nice that it's mostly online, such as for the quizzes and exams. In class it motivates you to engage and stay focused.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Meet people in the class so you can study with for the online quizzes, that's what the teacher wants!
