    | Would highly recommend.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

Prof. Majumdar does a wonderful job of facilitating rigorous academic discussion and analysis while keeping the energy high and building relationships with his students.

    Course highlights:

I learned to always try and participate, because even if you don't know it all, everyone can contribute.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

I would recommend trying to read a little bit every night, and probably going to the library to do so.

    | Would recommend.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend it because you are introduced to many texts you wouldn't otherwise choose to read or decipher. It gives you insight to many of the baselines of some of the majors on campus and you can see what texts interest you and what don't.

    Course highlights:

We had great conversations about texts and what they could mean. It was great to be able to express an opinion and have everyone consider it or give you feedback.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Go to as many office hours as possible. With this being a required class, this course could make your remaining years at Whitman easier or harder. What you learn in this class can be used for all classes. So take your professors up on the office hours so that you can get their tips and critiques.
