    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

The instructor is amazing and clearly has a passion for science. He has consistently been available and approachable when any of us have needed assistance. I am in the online course so I can't imagine any of his face-to-face students feeling any differently. The assignments and forums really motivate you to dig in to the subject matter and the way they are presented makes sense. I love this class!

    Course highlights:

In seeking my education, I feel any course would be a real waste if you did not take away some real world applications. As a result of learning about how our physiology works, I have made some real changes in what I eat. The information about how our amazing bodies work has also inspired me to make serious changes in my activity level. I learned and am continuing to learn anatomy and physiology, the structure and function and chemical processes of the human body. Interestingly, I have also found real world applications for this material when I visit my doctor. I have a much greater grasp of what is going on with my body and this is very empowering.

    Hours per week:

    12+ hours

    Advice for students:

First things first: plan! Plan to participate in the forums with thoughtful subject matter. Plan to research your forum entries and to use some credible resources. Plan to read at least 3 chapters of text per week. Use the additional resources such as companion websites to test your knowledge. They really help. The quizzes are closed book and timed so prepare to be challenged and study to be prepared. This can get intense but it is well worth your investment. The laboratory segment is useful and educational. I would go so far as to say it's fun. Be certain to prepare well for this too. Pay attention to the weekly announcements, speak up if you are having a problem and stay focused. This is a truly wonderful class and you will only get that wonderful grade if you work hard for it. If you have the option, consider taking this class alone so you can really give it your best attention.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

Took a class that was easy 2 quarters ago and made it hard by teaching pointless material.

    Course highlights:

Asks insane questions about guest lectures involving the minute details of the lecture that even someone taking notes wouldn't write down. Very boring.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

I don't like this and would not recommend it.
