Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

Great course! This course was a great new learning experience going in to Social Deviance and how it effects Society. It goes in to how Deviant behavior effects society and explains what Deviance is and hot it relates to Sociology and why it is important.

    Course highlights:

The papers we had to write were the highlights of this course. I say this because, through writing, I had to research everything and I could not write my paper until I fully understood what Social Deviance is and the research helped me out a lot. I learned that we, as a society, experience Social Deviance on a daily basis, whether it be ourselves or those around us.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Go in to this course with an open mind. Listen, pay attention, and interact with the other students AND the instructor for the course. When you do not understand something, ASK questions. I had to talk to Prof Carroll several times so that I could understand the material I am working on. It is your grade, put in the work and don't be afraid to ask questions to help improve your grade and knowledge.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

The content of this course is very relatable and as such it is very interesting. Having an understanding of how certain social problems such as deviance originated and how we can deal with them as a society is very intriguing.

    Course highlights:

My biggest take away from the course is understanding the significant role that culture plays in understanding social problems. Being in a largely diversified environment, knowledge of culture helps as one is forced to realize that social problems and their interpretations are evaluated based on where people are from.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

It is a lot of reading but the material is very interesting. Be prepared to put the time in and the result will be phenomenal. Do additional research which will broaden individual awareness.
