Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I recommend this course because it is a requirement and everyone who wants to be in the field of emergency and disaster management must take this class to have the foundation that will lead to a better understanding of the field. After this class, students will be able to dive deeper into the specifics and learn about more areas such as Homeland Security, Hazard mitigation, policy making, the mind of a terrorist, Incident Command Center etc....

    Course highlights:

In this class, I am learning the basics emergency and Disaster Management. The foundation of an effective preparedness is to have a strong disaster recovery plan that starts with preparation, response, recovery, and mitigation. Also, I have learned about Incident Command System that provides standardization for Emergency Managers in term of response and also the function of Incident Command Centers

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

I would tell students to be organized because there are discussions, and essays every week. Also, students must be very devoted because online classes are easy only if you are committed and organized. I have to two jobs to be able to make month-end needs and I have organized myself to be effective and dedicated.

    Advice for students:

you need to actually read the stuff and take notes for the founding documents/policies/chain of command because it will be referenced later and hard to flip back
