    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I was fascinated by the information I was learning, but this course was very disorganized and the professor was difficult to learn from. The lectures consisted of poorly constructed powerpoint presentations that were rushed through and not well explained. The assignments for the class were time consuming and difficult but did not succeed in helping me learn the course material. I learned the most from watching high quality YouTube videos that explained the materials and from studying from the textbook (although it wasn't a great one) and using a physiology coloring book.

    Course highlights:

I did learn the basics of physiology and I improved my skills in writing scientific papers. I improved in self-taught learning and navigating a course that was frustrating but making it through successfully.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

Find a study group you can work well with immediately, rely on self-taught learning. Skim the text or a different source of the information that will be covered before coming to class so that you have a better chance of keeping up with the powerpoint presentations. Buy and use the physiology coloring book!

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

This teacher was engaging, thorough, would answer any questions you needed. She went out of her way to make the class interesting and pertain to the material we were learning. This class is difficult, but it's rewarding because you get exactly what you put into it. If you work hard and show the teacher that you want to do well and you care about what you are learning you will do well!

    Course highlights:

When we were learning about memory she had us do a memory test, when we were learning about the lungs she gave us all different balloons to demonstrate lung diseases. She was one of the best teachers I've ever had.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Read the book!! I can't say that enough. And go above and beyond the syllabus and be thorough so that you feel comfortable on the test. On the exams write what you know, she can be reasonable and work with you if you demonstrate some sort of understanding.
