    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

Chemistry is awesome and so interesting! Learning about the world on the atomic level opens your eyes about the world on our level. This class requires so much studying, but nothing is boring to learn. Every subjects bring more about our world to light. I loved learning about how atoms and molecules interact with each other in ways that explain what we witness in the real world.

    Course highlights:

Stoichiometry (mostly we focus of Net ionic equations, and equilibrium equations). Be prepared to do lots of ICE tables! Solubility, solutions, gas behavior (the enthalpy and entropy lesson is the hardest), thermochemistry, atomic structure (my favorite), electronegativity and atomic size (based on the periodic table), light spectrums in gasses and liquids, chemical bonding, molecular structure...and in Lab be prepared to titrate everything!

    Hours per week:

    12+ hours

    Advice for students:

Form groups and study with others if you can. It helps to have more minds in the game so you can help each other understand complicated concepts. Helping fellow students learn also helps you to understand the material. I've found it helpful to watch lots of videos, do ALL the homework and practice exams, and most of all, get your homework done early and go to Office Hours! Dr. Stuart is really patient and really helps you with concepts you may not have understood from the book or lecture. Ask a million questions!
