Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

He doesn't make you do a whole lot of reading outside of the class, but he really makes you form opinions about the works you read and become a better writer in the process.

    Course highlights:

I was allowed to disagree with the professor. One of our term papers was supposed to be an argumentative piece so I wrote about something I had disagreed eith him on while in class. He graded me on my writing and how I backed up my argument rather than based on how much he agreed with me which gave me a lot of freedom in the class.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Do the assigned homework! That seems self-explanatory, but a lot of students neglect the readings because they "don't want to do it." Just do it and know what it's about. Have opinions and don't be afraid to share them. It's a largely descussion-based class, so you have to participate in the discussions.

    | No strong feelings either way.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

Well it was a required course. Kirkland is a good professor, and very smart! Though, he is a TOUGH grader so pay attention in class and be sure to write quality essays.

    Course highlights:

The good parts were the fact that we studied philosophy. Kirkland breaks it down in a manner that is really interesting. I would engage in discussion to earn brownie points.

    Hours per week:

    0-2 hours

    Advice for students:

Write Quality Essays because thats what the class consists off
