    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I highly recommend this course! Dr. Eckert has written the book and materials used for this course. Therefore, he really knows the subject.

    Course highlights:

We learned so much, but I personally learned much more about functional groups.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

If you want to succeed, you need to study and you need to do all the practice puzzles.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I loved Organic Chemistry. I thought it was one of the best course I have taken. Dr. Eckert made the learning fun and challenging at the same time. It opened a whole new world of Chemistry to me.

    Course highlights:

I learned about Diels-Alder reactions. I learned about Adol reactions. I learned about IR, NMR, TLC and many more methods of testing Organic Chemicals. I learned about Electrophiles, Nucleophiles and the many ways that they interact in organic. I even learned some BioChemistry at the end of the semester.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

You have to really love Chemistry to like this class. It is a tough class and requires a LOT of work to pass. Do not think you can do your homework the night before and succeed in the class. Review often and work in study groups. Study groups really help to make sure you know your stuff. If you are struggling, get a tutor. Do not be afraid to ask for help. You are going to need it.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

He called on people by random so to keep everyone alert. He also was very open to answering questions on anything in the course regardless if lecture or lab

    Course highlights:

I learned how Organic chemistry carried from semester 1 to 2, like addition - elimination reactions and what makes a good nucleophile and why certain things made good electrophiles

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Practice and pay attention, instead of memorizing what happens try to understand why it happened then if you understand that, then the course will make more sense
