Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend this course because of the intensity and the drive it requires to be a part of it. The fast paced environment is beneficial and definitely trains you for further harder courses.

    Course highlights:

I gained lab skills. Being thrown into the classroom was rough and a lot was expected of you, but the course prepared me at an advanced level to perform the necessary methods for future research. This is why I believe the course is fast paced, to intensify your learning and throw you into what you really want to spend the rest of your life doing.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Definitely, pay attention in class, read the textbook, and manual carefully. They are helpful resources in learning the material and making your research better.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I think the class was very good because of the experiments that are being done in the class and it's awesome to be able to participate in a national project.

    Course highlights:

i think i gained a better understanding of DNA replication, translation an transcription especially together with the experiments on our phage because it was the practice to the theory we learned.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

This class requires a lot of work in class and outside of class so I would recommend takin the course if you are actually interested in the topic and not just to get a requirement out of the way.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

This course helped really strengthen my base knowledge of biology that I will need for future courses, while also also providing many hands on experience with working in a laboratory setting that has/will aid in many other science labs.

    Course highlights:

This class was both helpful while gaining basse knowledge while giving us opportunities to put our knowledge to use by collecting and isolating an individual phage. This project tied directly back into the information we were learning by showing it in practice, through studying the life cycles and relevance of phage in everyday life.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

This class is extremely helpful, but it takes a lot of effort and time to maintain a good grade. I would highly suggest picking the professors carefully when you sign up by consulting past students or trusted academic advisors, but I would highly suggest Professor Tobiason.
