Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

This course was absolutely eye opening, not only did I do research on phage (bacteria viruses) but I discovered the phage, and did some interesting laboratory work with the phage. So if you want a fun, challenging, but very rewarding first science course I would definitely take this course.

    Course highlights:

Being able to name and discover my own bacteria virus, this in itself was extremely rewarding, because not many people can say they discovered their own virus and cultivated them.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Be on top of your work, always ask questions, and be aware of what you are doing, some students just did what they were told as opposed to actually reading the requirements and texts.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend this course because of the intensity and the drive it requires to be a part of it. The fast paced environment is beneficial and definitely trains you for further harder courses.

    Course highlights:

I gained lab skills. Being thrown into the classroom was rough and a lot was expected of you, but the course prepared me at an advanced level to perform the necessary methods for future research. This is why I believe the course is fast paced, to intensify your learning and throw you into what you really want to spend the rest of your life doing.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Definitely, pay attention in class, read the textbook, and manual carefully. They are helpful resources in learning the material and making your research better.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I think the class was very good because of the experiments that are being done in the class and it's awesome to be able to participate in a national project.

    Course highlights:

i think i gained a better understanding of DNA replication, translation an transcription especially together with the experiments on our phage because it was the practice to the theory we learned.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

This class requires a lot of work in class and outside of class so I would recommend takin the course if you are actually interested in the topic and not just to get a requirement out of the way.
