    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend taking it because you learn a ton about the western cultures. I though I knew a good amount about it, but I have learned so many different things that I had no idea of!

    Course highlights:

I learned how many civilizations today came about. Many of them took from the ideas of western cultures, especially the United States, our government is based off governments made way back in Roman and Greek civilizations.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

You need to stay up to date on your reading, or even stay ahead. If you are able to stay focused and stay on track you will know almost all of the information and be successful.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend this course because it covers a lot of different aspects of history that are only taught briefly in high school or in middle school. The course gives a lot of perspective on different historical figures such as John Locke, Martin Luther, Charles Darwin, or even Theodore Roosevelt.

    Course highlights:

The highlight of the course was learning a lot more about the Catholic Church and the Enlightenment that I had before. The perspective was more from a neutral standpoint about the Catholic Church's history than I had been exposed to while being in Catholic schools up until middle school. What made the course unique was the way the professor engaged the class and always had a sense of humor that made the lecture easier to engage in. The most interesting thing I learned was that the Catholic Church used indulgences to get people to give church money that would eventually grant that person salvation.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Definitely do the readings and pay attention during the lectures.
