Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend this course for anyone considering counseling, especially for the professional track. It provides a lot of good insight in how to connect with all people facing different forms of trauma. It also reminds us as students how much there is to learn and that we need to keep evolving in our knowledge as the world continues to change and the more people that are faced with challenges.

    Course highlights:

The highlights were learning the different ways people can help others by sharing their personal story. This professor included a lot of different techniques and examples for us to see that counseling is more than just its theories. It's really more about connecting with others and empowering them to find the hope they need to change for the better.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

The advice would be to keep an open mind and digest as much information as you can from the readings, the videos and the assignments. It is one of the few classes in the graduate level program where it is truly focused on trauma counseling. A definite gem for sure!
