    | Would recommend.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I recommend it because this course was re-done in many aspects: new power points, having recorded lectures, more hands-on in-class work, group activities. The class is very engaging. Pharmacology is very difficult course. It really takes you by surprise, it takes you for a roller coaster ride. But, Corso's changes have made that ride enjoyable. You learn so much in Pharm 1. There are lots of learning keys that you take with you into your further courses, especially your future nurses courses. It really teaches you to think outside the box and how to apply your knowledge in real situations.

    Course highlights:

I learned so much about medications and administration. I learned proper techniques. I learned the importance of medications we take. I learned the importance of understanding each medication people take but more importantly understanding how each medication is specific to a certain patient. You learn how medications are different among gender and age groups(across the lifespan). You learn how the drug interacts in the body, how the drug interacts with food/drinks, how the drug interacts with other drugs. There are lots of important skills to be learned in Pharm 1. That is why the class it tough. It is tough but it is worth it.

    Hours per week:

    12+ hours

    Advice for students:

You need to read the chapters, do the online book practice questions, READ the powerpoints/ re-listen to the powerpoints, do not be afraid to ask questions(always clarify your thinking because your interpretation could be different from the teacher), take notes, MAKE NOTECARDS//// always do the med-cards. Med cards save your life.
