    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

This course is a great way to come to understand the mechanics behind many of the world's natural phenomenons. Whitfield is a tough professor, but he knows what he's talking about and he's open to helping you whenever you need that extra bit of understanding on a topic.

    Course highlights:

Lab was the most interesting portion of the class, working hands on with many of the principles taught in the classroom really gives you a sense that you are not working with the theoretical or unproven, but real hard equations that can predict so much about our natural world. It certainly gives you more of an appreciation for the physics field.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Read the relevant material in the textbook, do the homework multiple times to prepare for the tests, always seek help when you need it, and show up to class! Other than that, you just need to have at least a small amount of interest in the topics or you'll find this class to be quite the math slog.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend this class because he teaches well and makes you work for your grade. He assigns homework every week but this helps you to learn.

    Course highlights:

The highlights of this course is that the environment is good. The teacher is always open to questions. He gives you notes on all homeworks and tests. I learned several concepts that now help me in phys 2.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

If you are taking this course I recommend working on homework and trying to understand the concepts. The teacher has test questions on concepts and knowing them will also help to answer word problems.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

Very funny and smart professor who is willing to help you with the struggles of the class, since PHYS 231 is not an easy course. Lots of homework but without it, I wouldn't have understood the material as much

    Course highlights:

The most intriguing part I learned about was how simple harmonic motion and pendelums are roughly the same periods and the ways we can apply this to the real world

    Hours per week:

    12+ hours

    Advice for students:

Be ready to LISTEN! If you don't show up to class you can say goodbye to your 4.0 because this class requires you to be in class to write down notes and just soak in the material. Also, do more than the problems assigned because you can never do enough of these problems.
