    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

Calculus is a hard subject in general, but Dr. Wlker does his best to teach the concepts. He is one of the better math professors at UWEC and you can tell that he really knows the material. The only problem is he's not always the best at conveying it in a way that students will understand.

    Course highlights:

Though there was a lot of background knowledge require for this course, you also learn a lot. If you do the readings and the homework you will learn how to do the basic concepts of calculus that are taught in this course.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

My advice is to read the sections before he goes over them in class so you have a basic understanding of what you are going to be given examples of. He assigns problems for homework every night and then goes over ones that people emailed him about at the beginning of class the next day. Try to do as many of the homework problems as you can, as they really help to understand the concepts. Also, do the reviews, they are for extra credit and the tests are EXTREMELY similar to them.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

Calculus is a difficult subject to learn in general, but Dr. Walker does his best. He mostly goes over examples in class and expects you to do most of the real learning on your own time. He is decent as far as professors go and he obviously understand calculus, he has been doing it for 40 years, but his teaching skills could use a bit of an improvement.

    Course highlights:

If you do the readings and homework then you will definitely understand the basic concepts of calculus after this class is done.
