    | Would recommend.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

It is a great introduction to the world of accounting. It would be a great taste of that world to determine whether it's something you're interested in.

    Course highlights:

This was a different world for me - psychology and science are usually open to some level of interpretation, and this was black and white. It forced me to use a part of my brain that I'm not used to using.

    Hours per week:

    12+ hours

    Advice for students:

Do the readings AND eLearnings. Take notes. It will help you significantly when you are doing the homework. My professor gave breakdowns for the homework, but you will need your notes for the exams - they are pretty tough.

    | No strong feelings either way.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

Intro to Accounting is a required class for my major, but I did not enjoy it. As a student, you are expected to practice the problems before you learn them in class. So you have to learn how to do them through the online program and book, then go over that material in class. It is really difficult (time-wise) to teach myself how to do the problems and then go to class on top of it (attendance is mandatory). If I wanted to learn from reading the book and doing problems online, I would have taken an online class.

    Course highlights:

It did give me the basics of accounting, but all I really got from it is a tiny bit that I remember and can use for Managerial Accounting.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

Plan to have A LOT of time to try and figure out the problems beforehand.
