Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

This course was challenging, yet awesome. Learned not only basic Chemistry topics, but also how these topics directly relate to everyday situations. For example, we learned how Antifreeze for cars works and how it has to do with chemistry, how the Flint Water Crisis could have been avoided with chemistry, and much more. Dr. Turov is fantastic. She makes class much more interesting and is very enthusiastic about her job. Lab is the more challenging part of this class because there is a lab quiz every week that is focused on applying material from lecture. Some quizzes were more challenging than others, but overall, this is the part of the class I wish I would have been better prepared for. Dr. Turov offers various extra credit points throughout the semester which is helpful. I would highly recommend this class.

    Course highlights:

Dr. Turov was the highlight of this course hands down. She takes time to explain topics thoroughly and clearly. She opens up the lecture for questions at any time throughout her classes to make sure everyone is following. She is available and more than willing to help her students. She also makes hilarious jokes, shows us uplifting videos, and made me really appreciate everyday chemistry.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

In order to succeed in this course, study for the lab quizzes every week. Make sure to study and practice the problems dealing with math and equations because this will be the major points on exams.
