    Pretty easy, overall.

    Course Overview:

It was a great intro course for sociology and we covered many topics. You learn about the basics of sociology.

    Course highlights:

I learned about the different prespectives used in sociology such as the conflict perspective and the functionalist perspective. You also touch on culture, racism, and sexism.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

The professor had study sessions and study guides. I would highly recommend doing the guides and going to the sessions where the professor shared what we needed to know for exams. I would also adive that you read everything and participate in discussions.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

Dawn is the best professor I have ever had at UWL. She incorporates many different styles of teaching that make it easy for different kinds of learners to understand.

    Course highlights:

We learned a lot about the basics of sociology. A lot on the different perspectives etc

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

I would say get ready to read because in order to do the pop quizzes you must read what was assigned the night before.

    Pretty easy, overall.

    Course Overview:

Dr. Bakken was an awesome professor! As long as you show up to class and take notes you will be fine. You do need to review the material to do well on the exams, but they are all multiple choice. Also, there isn't a final, but just the last unit exam. I would definitely recommend taking this class with Dr.Bakken. He always keeps the class interesting and has a lot of knowledge to share.

    Course highlights:

The highlights of the course were discussing how human beings are brought up, and how it affects them throughout their entire life. Also, there are multiple discussions on if everyone has the same opportunities for success or not. Does the lifestyle of a person affect how well they do in school, their job, or how they treat others. I learned many things, but one thing that I did learn is that many people do not have the same advantages as say white middle class people do. I didn't really ever think about how my white privelege has made many opportunities available to me that many others don't have.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

If you take notes while Dr. Bakken is lecturing and review those notes a couple times a week you will do great. Dr. Bakken also puts up his power points on D2L, so I found it very helpful to do the notes before the lecture and then just listen to him during class. He would also mention stuff that wasn't in his power points so then you have time to write that down too.
