This class was tough.
Course Overview:
I would definitely recommend this course because it's not easy. This course forces the student to focus and go beyond his or her understanding of basic math. In theory, statistics is simple. In this class, statistics is not. It is very interesting because changing just one aspect of the research method can completely change the statistical test that is used.
Course highlights:
The biggest highlight of this course was learning all about the SPSS software and how it can be used in psychological statistics. This program made a problem that would normally take up to thirty minutes, take five minutes.
Hours per week:
6-8 hours
Advice for students:
My advice would be to do the practice problems. Copying the in-class problems will not help at all unless you try them by yourself.
Not too easy. Not too difficult.
Course Overview:
Its recommended for a lot of majors, but no think its a good class to take in general because it shows how statistics are run and how easy it is to skew them to change the outcome of an experiment or sway the opinion of a group.
Course highlights:
I learned how to do statistics and how to manipulate them.
Hours per week:
3-5 hours
Advice for students:
Take it because it's better than a regular math class and it was relatively easy.
This class was tough.
Course Overview:
It is a required course, but I would still advise taking it if it wasn't because any stats course will come in handy to know in the long run.
Course highlights:
P values, analysis of data, distributions
Hours per week:
6-8 hours
Advice for students:
Don't be afraid to ask questions! Do not procrastinate on assignments.
