Not too easy. Not too difficult.
Course Overview:
Dr. Lampe challenges his students to truly understand the materials. It is expected that any student taking this course is able to spend the time and put the dedication forward in order to be successful in this class. If you are taking more than 16 credits it would not be recommended to take Dr. Lampes math 152 class because you will not be able to give this class the time needed to understand the material. Once you understand the material you will feel more than accomplished.
Course highlights:
This course gave me a new understanding of math. Previously, I had thought I understood math but this class will put you to the test. Even if you fail, you will come out much more knowledgable than before and that is all that matters.
Hours per week:
12+ hours
Advice for students:
Put the effort into it! Go to office hours and SI sessions. There are multiple ways of understand the material you just need to find which method works best for you.
This class was tough.
Course Overview:
This course is important for those wanting to go on to Calculus, but I would not recommend it if you do not have to take it. It is a difficult class with a lot of information stuffed into one semester.
Course highlights:
Some of this course was new information, but a lot of it was review from high school math classes. We learned a lot about the unit circle and trigonometry.
Hours per week:
12+ hours
Advice for students:
The professor is tough, so I suggest doing the book work although it is not required. I also suggest going to SI if it is available or going to office hours. You may also want to brush up on your mental math as 95% if the course is no calculator.
