Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

Not just because I plan to be a journalism and communication major, but I recommend this course to anyone who would love to learn about fundamental part of our society--the media and the people who run this sector. This professor was great at relaying information and made class time an enjoyable one. It is not only for little planning on going into journalism but for people who value communication methods and how media functions to enhance and sometimes limit society.

    Course highlights:

In this course we learned about the first amendment, different biases society and people hold against the journalism practice and media, whether media is bias or if people are, and we learned that journalists have many responsibilities but so do members of society; it is a relationship.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Be prepared to write a lot but to also learn incredible things about our media system and other media around the world. It can be challenging but it is always rewarding. If you stay on top of your assignments and engage with the material it will not be as hard.

    Pretty easy, overall.

    Course Overview:

This course is still one of the most interesting ones I have taken while at the University of Wisconsin. Even if you are not interest in mass media or communications, the course really opened me up to the current events happening around me in the world and how to analyze then through the information that the media gives to the public.

    Course highlights:

I learned a lot about the way media can influence its viewers and how to decipher information that is mass produced for the public.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Be ready to write and read. The articles assigned are definitely interesting but will help you a lot when it comes to discussion and writing assignments.
