Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

Chemistry 103 is a great introductory course to chemistry. It lays the basic foundations and if one takes this course and enjoys it, they should continue to take more chemistry classes and consider a major in it. I personally enjoy this course and the way that my professor teaches it. He makes the class easy to understand with clear explanations and lots of visuals with experiments.

    Course highlights:

I learned many basics of chemistry in this course, such as chemical reactions, stoichiometry, and the periodic table. The periodic table consists of the elements that serve as building blocks of every substance and process on earth. In chemistry, one sees how it connects to many other sciences, such as physics and biology. In Chem 103, I also do lab once a week which allows me to operate as a scientist by learning how to perform experiments as I think logically, communicate effectively, and solve problems methodically.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Advice that I would give to students considering this course is to always do the online pre class and post class homework because it helps you with extra practice. This way you come to lecture with background information on what you'll be learning that day and go home to extra practice homework that will prepare you for future quizzes and exams. Also, the professor has extended office hours the day before the exam and people go into a discussion room and ask question. I recommend attending that if you can because people ask many great questions!
