Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

Professor Castillo inspired me to select Spanish as a second major. Spanish 203 taught me a lot of conversational Spanish which is what I have always wanted to be better at but none of my high school Spanish classes prioritized speaking. I am now looking to study abroad in Spain for my third year of college so I can be fluent.

    Course highlights:

I not only learned grammar, vocab, and conversational Spanish; I also learned about the culture of several Spanish speaking countries through reading books. This gave the class a real depth and what I took from it meant a lot more because I feel more connected to Hispanic culture now.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

To anyone considering this course, I would tell them to definitely go to office hours and develop a relationship with the professor. Also, participate a lot in class and do not be afraid to make mistakes. No one in this class can speak Spanish perfectly and practicing and making mistakes is a part of learning.
