This class was tough.
This course spends a lot of time talking about the taxation for corporations which is important for someone pursuing a company job. However, a significant amount of the material also involved the taxation of individuals and partnerships. This course is therefore useful for someone who is considering itemizing their deduction, or someone pursing a self-employed accounting job.
In this course we learned about the basic requirements of a tax and its purpose in the United States government. The rest of the course is a study of individual and corporation deductions, revenue recognition, compilation of AGI, etc.

Advice for students:
I recommend studying the lecture notes on a weekly basis instead of burying yourself in the book. The textbook contains more information, but even with examples does not begin to help a student understand like in lecture. Keep reviewing early semester information when being introduced to new topics, as it will help you understand the "big picture".
