    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

This course was literally the catapult that drove me into social work. I've always had a passion to help and work with people. Growing up I never understood why I lived in such a different environment than children of other races. This policy class really gave me insight on how laws and policies truly effect one's neighborhood. Understanding how people go through cycles and lack resources and opportunities for generations at a time is mindbogglingly, and this class taught me what changes need to occur to make an effective difference.

    Course highlights:

The highlights of this course were the statics learned, how policies are passes, how political awareness plays a major role in your community. I learned that in order to change the world around you it takes law changes, and that entails knowledge for the people. This means we have to be aware of the laws and know how they effect us.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

When taking this course it's critically important to be prepared before class and thoroughly digest the readings.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend this class especially to social work majors because it gives you insight on the types of policies you will deal with and the type of resources out there for clients.

    Course highlights:

I learned so much from this course! The professor is hard on students because he wants everyone to succeed I learned what it means to be a good social worker and how the polices are very important when giving out resources to clients.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

Some advice that will give new or perspective students is that going to class daily, keeping up with assignments and knowing what you are talking about because professor will randomly call on a student and put their knowledge to the test. Just go into the policy class with an open mind you will learn so much from his course!
