    | No strong feelings either way.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

He is not the greatest professor, but it is a required course, so just get through it because the cs program is great.

    Course highlights:

Highlights of this course is definitely workshops, the most fun and productive aspect of this class.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

I recommend going to labs. They are listed as optional, but are a great time to be productive on homework.

    | Would highly recommend.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I'd definitely recommend it as an introduction to Computer Science and programming. It will give you a solid foundation in Java, and by extension, many valuable principles of programming that you will need in the future. It will probably be a difficult class for those completely new to programming, but it is certainly not impossible. As long as you put effort into it, you will do well in the class and begin a great path of learning in Computer Science.

    Course highlights:

The projects! Having to construct a comparatively(relative to the regular coursework) complicated and large program from basically scratch turns out to be a great way to learn by doing and basically forces you to become proficient in Java.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

Don't give up! Also, you will almost certainly need to consult outside resources to really master the nitty gritty of the programming. In class you will learn great concepts of programming, but in order to become proficient at the actual syntax, you will need to practice and put effort into self learning.
