Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend this course to literally anyone who has the option to take it - regardless of their major. Economics is one of those courses in college you should take just to take it because of the fundamental understanding it gives you about real-world problems. Moreover, Professor Liedholm is one of the best professors I've ever had at MSU; he takes his time to engage with the material and makes it extremely easy to understand. I'm considering going on to pursue a graduate degree in economics just because of this class and this professor alone. Take this class, you won't regret it!

    Course highlights:

Understanding the basic principles of microeconomics is a skill that everyone should have, and this course certainly teaches them to you in the best way possible. You'll get the basics of supply/demand, income/price elasticity, equilibrium analysis, and analyze various market structures like perfect competition, monopolies, oligopolies, and monopolistic competition. You'll learn so much more, but these were some of my favorite parts of the course!

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Definitely review the online material Dr. Liedholm posts. There are self-assessments you can do along with the material to ensure you have a solid grasp on it. There are also practice exams and lecture slides to review from. If you go through these resources diligently, you will undoubtedly have success in this course.
