    | No strong feelings either way.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

It's a prerequisite to any science or medical field related path so it's generally inevitable. Although the class is much more difficult than regular university chemistry, it will reward you later when you need to take organic chemistry.

    Course highlights:

The highlights would have to be learning about Atomic Orbitals and Periodic trends. There is also an Organic Chemistry section near the end of the semester. All of these main concepts tie together to strengthen your conceptual knowledge of chemistry.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

Study for the mini-exam and you will be thankful you did! It is extremely hard and I suggest making study groups from the start!

    | Probably wouldn’t recommend.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

It goes extremely fast and you must keep up with every assignment, especially with Lahr, who does not go over the material well.

    Course highlights:

It applies the knowledge you learn to real life problem, which is very cool.

    Hours per week:

    12+ hours

    Advice for students:

Study everyday, just look over your notes at the very least.

    | Would recommend.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend this course if you are majoring in the natural sciences, animal sciences, or human sciences.

    Course highlights:

You gain knowledge on the basics of chemistry.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Make sure you have the textbook even though it is only recommended. It is helpful to go through the notes after lecture and through the chapter in the book after lecture.
