Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend this course to anyone, regardless of if they were studying Linguistics or not. The course content is interesting, the coursework is challenging but not overwhelming, and Professor Durvasula is one of the best professors out there. I couldn't recommend this class enough.

    Course highlights:

This is a blanket course; it covers many important parts of various fields of linguistic study, so the student gains a good foundation of knowledge should they choose to continue studying linguistics. The professor is also very willing to answer questions and listen to student suggestions.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Study well, ask questions, talk to the professor, and always do your homework!

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I love language, and it's interesting that you don't have to speak a language to understand how it works and interpret what that says about the culture surrounding it.

    Course highlights:

I've learned that there's a lot more to language than simply communicating. Even different dialects can lend information about where people live, what they value, and what kind of life they lead.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Don't over look this class because it's an introduction course. Linguistics is a lot more scientific than I would've expected and I recommend spending time studying if you want to be successful.
