    | No strong feelings either way.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

This has been a very difficult class for me even though I have taken Accelerated Precalculus and AP Calculus in high school. Oakland University is known for its tough math department and that is true. Be prepared for class, do all homework problems, and don't forget to always ask questions!

    Course highlights:

I have learned why math is important, the application problems done in class and on tests are complex, but doable. The highlight for me was when we did not have a pop quiz one week!

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

If this class is not necessary for you to take at Oakland University, take it somewhere else for the transfer credit unless you really feel the need to challenge yourself.

Just pay attention during class and ask questions if you feel lost.

    | Would recommend.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I would definitely recommend this course to other students. I needed to have a refresher in the precalculus concepts and I got valuable information out of this learning experience. Plus, since I did not have a strong math background I thought in college it would have helped a lot knowing better concepts, since university is a the serious and start in order to have a good career after education.

    Course highlights:

Highlights were mainly the use of the Supplemental instruction hours which helped really make students focus better on the material just learned and understand it better, as well as the quizzes that I did in class were very helpful to prepare students for the exams. As I attended lectures, I noticed that the professor also said important hints on how to approach problems successfully and do them right.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

It is mostly important to study every day, do homework step by step weekly to have less amount to do at the end of the week as well as to approach better the barriers if there are any. Also study not only for exams but also for the quizzes, Doing 100% means knowing the stuff and this decreases the amount a student is supposed to review more on certain aspects of the chapters. At the end do the problems assigned during the reviews, these shows exam-like questions that you will see.
