Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

The course gives an overall great summary of information on micro biology. Holly is an amazing professor and gives students a ton of opportunities to absorb the information.

    Course highlights:

I learned a lot about mitosis, meiosis, proteins, DNA, cell communication, RNA, osmosis, the types of transport, and much more.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Make sure to review the information on the days you don't attend class because it will help stick better in your mind.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

The professor for the class is definitely one to keep his students engaged and entertained. He's not afraid to make jokes and speaks with a lot of enthusiasm. He expects a lot of work from you but not too much, and as long as you come to class and do the work it is just fine.

    Course highlights:

There is a lot of online work to do for this course, but none of it is too difficult. Most of your grade for the class is based on this online work, making it easy to get a good grade as long as you do it. Aside from the quizzes, it is simply credit or no credit assignments. I really liked that about the class. That, and the fact that the students were challenged but not overwhelmed.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Just make sure to stay up to date on the online work and come to class and you'll be just fine.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

For those who are Bio majors, Sturtevant would be a great professor to start with. She briefly goes over the material in lecture form on the overhead, then she draws out the concepts for a better understanding. She also post the quiz answers and the the lectures on Moodle so you can use them to study from. She emphasizes that you must understand the material and not memorize it or you won't do so good in the class. The class is fast pace but, it's not too terrible. She'll assist you if you ask.

    Course highlights:

When we were studying viruses and bacteria, it kind of excited me to find out how to get rid of these viruses that are said to be incurable. I'm definitely not anything close to being a Bio major but, that portion of the course made me very curious.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

Make sure you understand the material, don't try to memorize it. There are links she post on Moodle to give you a chance to practice and identify the different parts of bacteria or any other concepts discussed in the course. There is also an SI class that is highly recommended to attend if you want additional help.
