This class was tough.
as you are unlikely to make good freinds just through class attendance alone as classes are quite large (especially in early years).
In my experience, the profs are not "out to get you" and do not have a set failure rate that they want to achieve (urban legend) - it is just a demanding school, and if you work hard and show an interest in your subject matter, your grades will reflect that.

Advice for students:
I had some excellent professors, and had no problems getting to know them in my upper years and obtaining reference letters for grad school. The academics are indeed tough, as many reviewers have noted, but isn't that what is expected of a good university? It is the one school that really made me work for my grades, and challenged me academically.
