    | No strong feelings either way.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

This course is required for GE, while difficult I think Cotrell was a good professor in that you knew what to expect from the class and can do well if you actually keep up with the readings.

    Course highlights:

Honestly, I don't remember what I learned a lot of it was material from previous history classes.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Learn how to read the book in an effective less time-consuming way. Actually, take notes in a way that's easy to understand later while studying. Do not sign up for the 8am lecture

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

History is a fantastic subject and I believe that we can learn a lot about our future by studying our past. There are the terrible and the great moments that the human race has experienced but it's only making for a brighter tomorrow. The world is growing as it has always done and we will learn from our mistakes.

    Course highlights:

I gained a much more thorough understanding of the historical events both triumphs and downfalls that were necessary in the bigger scheme of things to bring the country of America to where it is now.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

Exhaust yourself. There's always more to say when discussing history. Many forget that there's more than the dates, places, numbers of deaths, etc. Whenever there's action, there's a reaction, it tells a story.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend this course because it was fun, informative and Professor Rose did a really great job explaining it all. History has never been my favorite class, but that semester it was. I still rememeber it to this day because it was actually doable for me. I enjoyed going to class and learning. Tests were straight forward.

    Course highlights:

I gained an understanding of the History of the Unites States from the colonial times to present day. I really lenjoyed learning about the colonial times because I am from Williamsburg, VA and that portion of the course was very close to home and interesting for me. Learned about the political, cultural, and social ways of people before us and how they compare to the ways in which we run our nation today.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

I would tell a student that was considering this course to definitely take it and that it won't be too tough if they study and contribute to class conversations. Raise your hand and ask questions if you dont understand something because Professor Rose has no problem explaining things to you.
