Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend this course to everyone because it allowed me to make friends from doing the group work and it also built my courage to stand up to an audience and publicly speak. This class had about 100 students, but it was a U-Course. It was joined with Political Science and what made it interesting were the elections for 2016. Every class, the professors would pass around microphones and ask us to express our thoughts on the topic of the day. The best part was that there was no judgement and it allowed us to share our perspective against the candidates.

    Course highlights:

The highlight of this class were the memories and the friendships that I made. My professor assigned us into interest groups and for the semester we researched our topic, human trafficking. I have learned so much about this topic and I am now more alert and aware of this horrible crime. I went into this topic not knowing a single thing and by the end, I was able to present a seven minute speech in one of my other classes. I was able to meet with professionals who work within this industry in the hope of spreading awareness and ending human trafficking.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

I would tell them to choose a topic, for the interest groups, that they do not know much information about. I was able to research and relate my topic to so many different events in my life that the skills used for researching were extremely helpful. I feel that if I chose a topic I knew a lot about, I would not have put in effort to the class.

    Advice for students:

Be ready to have a lot of freedom and be sure to find that motivation inside of ou to get the job done.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I recommend this course because I walked into college thinking that I was going to breeze through without any troubles, but this class screwed my head on straight. This was a hard class and that was because of Linda. She gave us hard work because she knew we could do it, she never once doubted us, she only pushed us to our full potential. I was always close to all of my high school teachers, but she was the only college professor I was close to my first semester. I recommend this class because I grew into a better reader, writer, and student because of it. I recommend this class because I enjoyed coming to class and learning new things.

    Course highlights:

I gained the ability to work hard. Like I said throughout high school I would not study and I would not prepare for things and did well. This class taught me that college is different, every night was something new, it was a new and fast pace that I was not used to. This class did not only teach me when to use hyphens, but also how to better manage my time. This class is writing heavy, there were always little essays we would write each week about stories we read, by doing that we also learned how to annotate those essays.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

The best advice I have for this class is to take advantage off all the opportunities given by Linda. There are so many on campus events that happen, and if you attend and write about it she gives you points. She also allows revision on assignments if you used perfect MLA. Seeing Linda during office hours always helps, she gives the best advise about your work in her office. But, the best advice I could give, is to try your best, if you try your best she will notice.
