    | Would highly recommend.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend this course to any business major because it is an integral part of any upper level Business course. This teacher, Amy Griffin, is a certified CPA and works as an accountant in the real world. She knows the subject very well and is an outstanding professor. She helped me go from a 55% on the first test to a 95% on the final. She is a phenomenal professor.

    Course highlights:

I learned how to read and create basic financial reports in this class. Income Statements, Statements of Cash flow, Balance Sheets, and Statements of Shareholder's Equity were all covered in this chapter. A sturdy base of what you need to know in order to follow a career in accounting is taught in this class.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

It is important to look over your notes from this class because they are easier to understand than the books. PRACTICE THE PRACTICE PROBLEMS! The best thing you can do is study the practice problems and continue practicing as the semester goes on, this way you will retain what you had learned in previous chapters.

    | Would recommend.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend taking this course because although it is difficult it teaches valuable skills needed to run a successful business. The class was very difficult due to the workload and necessary studying before every class in order to pass the daily quizzes and exams every few weeks. However, the skills and knowledge I received from this course far outweigh the hardship of homework and studying.

    Course highlights:

I learned about how to make journal entries, debits versus credits, t-accounts, and other basic bookkeeping skills. What I learned that I found useful and interesting in my own life was how to account for interest, interest rates and bonds, assets and liabilities, and much more.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

Dear students who plan on taking Accounting 201, Please enter this course knowing full well that it will take time and effort in order to pass this class. Too many people fail this course at Chico State University and I hope you are not one of them. You should be prepared to read the book, show up to every class, take valuable notes, and read the book some more. Don't slack off in this class.
