Not too easy. Not too difficult.

Interesting online course that goes over the history of inventions and the connections that lead us to the modern world. Exams are based on the readings. 4 exams total.

Videos from the famous James Burke keep this course entertaining. I learned a lot about how complete accidents and a need for certain goods lead to the invention of something like the computer.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

During the 3 week semester although I read every chapter, watched every video, read every power point and the additional readings along with taking notes. It was still too much information to retain by the time the test came around.

    Course highlights:

I gained a great inside knowledge on why and how some events led to inventions and why some inventions happened by chance. It gave me a good base on how to think about civilization and how it came about.

    Hours per week:

    12+ hours

    Advice for students:

Be prepared to read and watch the videos. Dedicate yourself to following the guidelines that the professor provides. If you don't enjoy reading this is not the course you want to take especially during a 3 week semester. It was very, very interesting.
