Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I began this class with no foundational knowledge about anthropology. It served as a good introduction and was interesting enough that I ended up taking more Anthropology classes later on!

    Course highlights:

Though the class had some dry moments, there were some interesting topics as well, including our first ethnography (Nisa), a guest lecture about language, and a section about class structure and relationships in different societies.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Beware of some in-class group discussions that expand into full class discussions. These are generally focused on the readings, and it can sometimes be uncomfortably obvious if no one in your group has done the readings. In my semester, Midterm 1-2 were both worth 30%, the final was worth 35%, and attendance was worth 5%.
