Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

Professor Shen is an exacting professor; she has no issue with telling you that you are incorrect, or with offering suggestions, even when you don't ask for it. A very no nonsense teacher for a no nonsense course.

    Course highlights:

She will correct all of your grammar mistakes, so if you need help with that, she is an excellent choice.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Make sure you do the reading, and if you're struggling, go to her office hours. She is very helpful.

    Pretty easy, overall.

    Course Overview:

It had a focus on essays as an upper division course, but with a group project that had to with presenting more than simply writing. I found it interesting as the topic explored in our readings and writing was happiness. Led to many interesting discussions.

    Course highlights:

Classroom discussions and the group project that allowed us to examine the meaning of happiness and what attributes or enhances it. Listening to a variety of opinions and evaluating them next to my own beliefs.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Really think about your papers, go to office hours and just participate.
