    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

This course is very challenging and is not like any of the general chemistry courses that you have previously taken. Unlike those classes, in which you can solve a problem by doing a math equation, organic chemistry requires you to think outside the box. It's like solving a puzzle, but there are multiple ways to do it. This class will not only help you understand reactions, but it will also strengthen your ability to critically think.

    Course highlights:

The highlight of this course was being able to solve a synthesis problem that requires multiple reagents, while also having the ability to understand why a certain reaction occurred. Everything was a lot more easier to learn when you knew the background of the reaction or synthesis problem. Yes, this course is extremely hard. However, you are gaining skills far from just solving reactions, such as critical thinking and problem solving skills.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

Do not procrastinate on studying. This class is not a class you can just study over night. I would recommend studying a little bit of the material everyday so that it stays in your head. Also, PRACTICE is key! You will see similar reactions over and over and if you continue to do practice problems daily, your chances of getting a good grade is possible.
