    Pretty easy, overall.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend this course because of the labs. The labs are so interesting and they allow you to apply what you have learned on the lectures to the labs themselves.

    Course highlights:

One of the highlights of this course was doing the Phases of the Moon lab. For this lab we had to observe the high and direction of the moon over the course of a week. I had never taken notice of how the moon would come up later each day and it was a fun lab to do, nothing like the labs I had done previously.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

I would highly recommend looking over the lab before you came to class. For every lab I would look over what we would be doing and class and trying to use the computer software so I could arrive to class ready to begin without any problems. I would be done early and it was helpful to do this so that if you had any questions you could ask the professor ahead of time so the lab could run smoothly.

    Pretty easy, overall.

    Course Overview:

I took both ASTR 101 lecture and ASTR 101 Lab during the same semester. Taking both the lecture and the lab helped me understand the material better. I was able to apply what I had learned in the lecture to the labs.

    Course highlights:

One of the most interesting labs I took was regarding the patterns of the moon. For one week we had to note the position of the moon on the N.E.S.W. coordinates and note now high up from the horizon it was. It was very interesting and a lab I never thought I would have to do.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

I would recommend to take a look at the lab before you get to class. I would read over what the lab would require us to do, the day before, so when I arrived I could get to work right away. It was also beneficial because if you had any questions about the lab, you could ask the professor before you got started.
