Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

This course provides insight on running and managing a restaurant. It goes through all aspects from ordering, receiving, storing, and issuing food and beverage inventory. I have past experience as a host in a restaurant and I thought this course was relevant and interesting.

    Course highlights:

I learned a lot about inventory and used pieces of a balance sheet. There was a lot of material based around profits and how to change processes to increase profits. The professor also made it clear that he wanted us to be able to explain why profit may or may not be deviant from what was forecasted.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Read the textbook. The professor does not cover everything in lecture and it is your responsibility to read the material for quizzes and exams.

    Pretty easy, overall.

    Course Overview:

Took it online. It was a lot of work (assignments, discussions, quizzes) but easy to get good marks if you put in effort and start early! If you participate in the discussions you're basically guaranteed 100%.. definitely boosted my mark. The final was open book which was super helpful!

    Course highlights:

Learned a lot about the financial and management aspects of restaurants.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Start assignments early and do all of the readings if you're taking it online.
