    | Would recommend.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

This course is a really great foundation course in poetry. You will learn tons of information that can be applied to other English courses - how to write great analytical essays, vocabulary etc. It can be a difficult course if you don't apply yourself and Prof. Higgins is tough but fair. I highly recommend taking this course if you are planning on completing an English degree; you may want to skip it if you're another major :)

    Course highlights:

You'll learn tons of vocabulary for analysing many types of texts (not just poetry), which will be really helpful for future courses. The range of poems is wide and varied, so you'll find something interesting. TAs are usually pretty good.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Make sure you can keep up with the readings. Come prepared to class so you can answer questions. You don't have to be an English major to get something out of it, but the work does get more difficult.
