Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

This course deals with the theories on why dinosaurs went extinct. I chose the course based on the course description and i learned just what i wanted. The professor made the course interesting and did not back down from the questions that we had. His grading is fair but you should attend all classes and read all the texts to answer his test questions. He also shows Discovery documentation which are dramatic and exciting (popcorn worthy). This class was an introduction to the field and a great one at that.

    Course highlights:

I learned a whole lot more than i expected. All the information were to the point. We started off with how scientists think the Earth was formed to all other mind blowing extinction events that took place even before the dinosaurs. It forced us to wonder if all these events were random or a magnificent coincidence. We quickly went through the evolution the organisms went through millions of years ago. We focused on particular dinosaurs to understand other dinosaur species. The most fascinating information i gathered was that what we know about dinosaurs from the movies are not entirely correct. This course was well worth my time.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

I went to this class knowing only the basic dinosaur names and that they went extinct 65 million years ago. Besides this, i was an amateur in this field. This class can make a student feel like a child in a game store depending on how they approach it. TIPS: Go to every class. Pay attention in class. Read all the texts you are told to read. Try to enjoy and think outside the box.
