Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

Dr. Catano is a very knowledgeable professor who lectures well about an interesting subject (overview of all forms of life and ecosystem biology). However, in my opinion, there are too many homework assignments due each week (6 if you include pre-labs) and too many exams (8 including lab practicals and the final exam).

    Course highlights:

This course provided an in-dept introduction to the various forms of life - bacteria, fungi, plants and animals - as well as ecology and evolution. I also enjoyed learning how to use different microscopes in the lab and being able to apply what was learned in lecture to real-life examples.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

I would recommend paying attention in lecture and taking good notes. Also be sure to complete the reading assignments and take notes on them, too. Being extremely organized is helpful, too, since there are so many assignments and it's easy to forgot one every once in a while.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

The teacher is awesome . He really works hard to allow all students to have the opportunity to understand everything.

    Course highlights:

I enjoyed the evolution section. I learned about misconceptions of evolution with religion. Now i know facts to defend evolution.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

You need to work hard and stay organized. It is really important you create a good study habit.
