Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

Although my major is all but completely unrelated to political science, I consider this course or another like it -- that is, a basic introduction to American government and society -- an important and worthwhile experience for any undergraduate student. I feel that it has given me stronger grasp on how the U.S. functions as a country, and has encouraged me to become more involved with the political process.

    Course highlights:

This course emphasized the various roles that different people and groups play in deciding American politics, particularly the checks and balances employed between the three branches of government and the power (or lack thereof) of each individual to alter politics.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

The professor gives a number of small assignments throughout the course; they may seem trivial and easy to blow off, but they are a really useful way to cement the material taught in class (and add up to a significant portion of your final grade).
