Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

Santa Barbara feels like a tease of Los Angeles. There are a couple of museums, some live music and a few things to do. Most of it costs money which isn't great for being a student. It's the result of being adjacent to a wealthy town, but one side note is that the town itself is pretty clean and beautiful.

    Course highlights:

One great aspect though is access to hiking and the beach! Excursion club gives you access to surfboards, paddle boards, climbing trips. If you're into the outdoors it's great.I've become accustomed to weekend trips just to get out of the monotony of party/drinking in IV which can get pricey.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

As stated in an earlier review: Art at CCS is great! It's flexible, rigorous. Basically being a part of the program means that they expect you to be serious about what you're doing. It doesn't seem too intense. Drug use seems pretty average.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

You don't have to be part of a Greek club to have fun. There's parties everywhere and if you are social, you can find new friends that know parties. All the restaurants are expensive and close way too early for a college town.

    Course highlights:

I don't participate, but I've heard we have the best parties of any UC or any campus in general. Not alot of drugs, lots of alcohol.Appealing a financial aid decision is a huge headache and the process moves very slowly. Nonetheless, my appeal outcome was generally favorable.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Not strict at all. Though I've never witnessed it, I've had professors complain that students go to class in bikinis. Campus itself is very safe.Unless you live in Goleta or Santa Barbara, you don't interact with locals for the most part, so I can't really comment on that aspect.
